Not dead... yet.

I have had the flu, thus I have not been posting.  I haven't forgotten about the blog, but I have literally done nothing for the past week other than lay on the couch.  I came to stay with my parents and have been eating lots of mashed potatoes, hot chocolate, and not cooking.  Cooking and crafting will resume once I am human again :)

Papi's

I'm terrible.  I have no photo evidence that is the goodness of a Papi's Cuban sandwich.  That's because I ate it so quickly there was no pausing for photography.  It has become a tradition on my team at school (a team is 4-6 teachers, teaching different subjects but the same students - you had that in middle school right?) to get Papi's on early release days.  We have 2 early release days twice a year to hold parent conferences, and on our "long" day - the day we stay until 7PM when the kids leave at 1 - Liz's (math teacher) boyfriend Rocky picks up Cubans for us.  AMAZING!  Side note on Rocky... his brother is the choreographer for the dance group Twitch - and they made it to the finals of the Paula Abdul (bleh) show "Live to Dance."  Can't stand Paula, love the dancing.

Anyway, should you crave a Cuban, YOU MUST GO TO PAPI'S.

That's all.

a little crafty...

So, I have been spending more time on work and less time on blogging (which is good, in a way), but it means that for the past two weeks there have been no SOTW (sandwich of the week - duh!).  Last week was full of lean cuisines.  This week has been partially lean cuisines and partially left overs.  Tomorrow's meal is SUPER exciting and I will definitely talk about it.

The craft bug is still in me - especially after going to Binders this afternoon.  My dear friend Claire's mom has really talked it up to my mom... so by word of mouth, I heard Binders was awesome.  Also, I just HAPPENED to have a 50% off Scoutmob for Binders that expired TODAY!  Meant to be, for sure.  I was able to get my new self-healing mat and a fabulous (I hope) rotary cutter for $25.  Super fab!

I'm meeting up with my cousins Jami and Brant tonight for sushi (thanks to a groupon) and I decided to take her a little something:

So simple, but I am pretty pumped.  My new bloggy friend Kristen over at peace, love, and crafts totally inspired me to get felty with some adorable paperclips she created: Girlie Paperclips

Easy, too!  and inexpensive!  I just washed out an old spaghetti sauce jar, filled it with bath salts (Thanks to my sis for giving my 25 lbs of them.... AKA a lifetime supply!), added some ribbon, a felt flower, and a button.  I went monochromatic but the finishes are all different :)  Pretty excited.
